Discover Healthcare

Everyone knows a hospital is full of doctors and nurses, but how many other careers can you name? King's Health Partners (KHP) wanted to create a website to help promote all the other careers available within healthcare science to young talent - especially those from socially deprived backgrounds.

It was obvious to us though that this initiative needed more than a website, it needed a brand. A brand that could excite and engage with young people on their level, through many different channels. And a website. A website that would build a community of students and allow KHP to highlight all the initiatives they can get involved in, as well as career paths in each of their four areas (Pharmacy, Medical Physics, Admin & Clerical and Research).

That brand, and website, was Discover Healthcare. Launched in June 2016, the website is split into three distinct sections:

• Excite - which is a blog based area of the site full of jaw-dropping stories. Regularly updated, it ensures there's always something new and exciting for teenagers to read. Excite feeds into the Explore

• Explore - the Excite stories feed directly into the four areas of KHP and, in Explore, you can find out more about each one of them, and the careers and opportunities within. This section is backed up by a suite of profile videos.

• Get involved - the final area of the site, is where students can literally get involved in one, or more, of the initiatives KHP run. In order to do so though, they have to register, helping us to build a community of interested teens that we can push more exciting and engaging healthcare content and careers too.

The responsive site which was built mobile first, is backed up by communications that push positive messages, and excite stories, across multiple channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram,YouTube, via events and in print. KHP is also in direct contact with hundreds of schools around South London area.

The journey to create the DHC brand was a long one, with student focus groups, internal and external stakeholders all helping us to define the end product. But, the success of the site after only one month proves it was a also successful one. Take a look for yourself at discoverhealthcare.co.uk
