How do you transform a little-known energy supplier into a people-powered brand that sparks pride, boosts performance, and attracts a more diverse workforce – all on a modest budget? That was the challenge facing Flogas and CA3. Their old employer brand was outdated, inconsistent and, frankly, running out of gas. So, together we reignited it, creating Powered by People, a bold, authentic employer brand that’s driven by its people, trusted by its customers, and energising careers across the UK.

Flogas keeps homes and businesses across the UK supplied with off-grid energy – often in the middle of nowhere. But while customers rated their service 4.6 stars on Trustpilot, the company’s employer brand told a very different story. It didn’t reflect the warmth, innovation or togetherness of the real Flogas. That had to change.

To uncover what truly powered the business, we started with insight – and plenty of it. Interviews with the Senior Leadership Team were followed by 13 focus groups across depots, offices, and forums, representing nearly 20% of the workforce. We combined this with competitor analysis, employee surveys, and customer brand data to build a complete picture of life at Flogas.

The result was a powerful new EVP and employer brand: Powered by People. It’s built on four pillars – Together, we do more; Be empowered; You matter; and Shape a brighter future – and a clear promise: to do energy right by customers and colleagues alike.

Activation spanned every stage of the candidate and employee journey. Real employees starred in a nationwide campaign using authentic stories and striking photography. A new careers site brought those stories to life, and an employer brand toolkit empowered HR and Flogas’ hiring managers to own recruitment communications without relying on agencies. Employee advocacy training, fresh induction materials, and a reimagined candidate experience extended the brand’s reach even further.

And the results? Electrifying. LinkedIn followers jumped 24.8%, time on site rose 36.5%, female hires increased 22.8% and application to hire ration improved by 22%! Voluntary attrition fell by 3%, cost per hire dropped by £295, and eNPS soared +30 points – all in just over a year. Proof that when a company is Powered by People, the results really do speak for themselves.
